Follow Friday

 Q. Do you judge a book by it's cover?

In a word... Absa-freaking-loutely. I should amend this answer by saying that I always read the summary and then make a judgement call. But if a book has an absolutely stunning cover chances are I will read it, and if a book has an awful cover than its going to take a little more convincing me to move it up on my TBR pile!

  22. Hi Bonnie! New follower here! Nice to meet you.

For me, it is the cover and the title that tempt me to read the blurb. If the blurb reads great, I'll grab the book. I remember the first time I saw Harry Potter's book covers, I was like, O_o...not sure if I liked them. Love the inside but the covers weren't really to my taste.
    Happy Follow Friday!!!

  23. Love the design of your blog!

Yes, I often judge books by their covers, and I'm so glad when my old favorites get much-needed makeovers.

I'm a new follower, and invite you to check out my sites and follow me as well.

  24. It's the first thing that attracts me to the book.

stop and see mine and my giveaways.

  25. I've had to learn the hard way to never buy a book just because of the cover! I'm a new follower! My FF is at Coffee Table Reviews

  26. I think we can all agree that even the most beautiful book cover can't sell a book if the writing's not there. Book cover art may, at best, help steer me in the book's direction (especially if I'm in a book store) but it's not going to hypnotize me into buying it right then and there.

I expound on all the marketing qualities of a good book. Just follow me back to my book blog -

    Thank God it's Follow Friday!?

  27. New follower! I always judge a book by it's cover! I can't help it; I'm superficial like that, haha :) But a book is a book no matter what! Have a happy weekend!

  28. @Judith Leger

Hi Judith, very true! I will absolutely check out your site as well. Thanks for visiting and following!

  29. Poor ugly books! You're right, they do take a lot more convincing to get people to read them when they aren't pretty, poor things.

Happy Follow Friday! I'm a new follower. I hope you'll check out my blog too!

  30. @Keith Schoch

Hi Keith, thank you very much! I have been doing a lot of redesigning on this little blog in the last few months and its starting to feel like 'home'.

Thanks for visiting and following! I'll be sure to visit your blog as well.

  31. @Aimee

You are absolutely right Aimee, there has to be something substantial behind that cover! Thanks for following!

  32. @Howard Sherman

You make a great point Howard! Thanks for stopping by!

  33. @Crystal

Hi Crystal, thanks for visiting and following! I'm sure if we are all perfectly honest we judge a book by its cover, even just a little bit.

  34. New Follower .

  35. I'm the opposite. I finish the book first and then read all reviews and summaries.

  36. I think I'm 50/50 on this. The cover certainly does play a big part, but sometimes, I hear such great things about a book that I'll read it no matter what it looks like on the outside.

Thanks so much for visiting on my SITS day!

  37. I love everything about a book, including the imagery, and the texture of the paper. Walking through a bookstore, I am certainly drawn in by the cover. Of course I also read the description to see if the content appeals to me and I look for specific books that have been recommended by family, friends, and respected booklists (like CBC Canada Reads, etc.)
